8 men arrested, charged for sexually assaulting unconscious teen

RHODE ISLAND- 8 men have been charged with allegedly sexually assaulting a teen girl, while she was unconscious at a party.

According to The Boston Globe Show, the 16-year-old girls mother saw a video of her daughter unconscious, allegedly being attacked by a group of men. She contacted police, which began an investigation.

When authorities spoke to the teen victim, she told them that she remembered being naked in a bathroom shower, with about 15 men laughing at her, while allegedly taking photos, before she was taken into a bedroom, unconscious.

The paper reports that the teen girl was able to provide only two names, which were the men who brought her to the party. That led police to several arrests.

The video that surfaced on Facebook, was from June, showing a group of men sexually assaulting the teen, as people stood around and did nothing to interfere.

The victim stated that when she awoke in an apartment the next day, she had vaginal pain and cuts to her thighs.

Police arrested Luis Cabrera, 19, Jose Vargas, 19, Erving Keith Colon, 25, Malcom Baptista, 19, Luis N. Luna, 19, and Carlos Chicon, 20 and Richard Tarell Chester, 20. There is an active warrant for another suspect, who has been identified by the Globe as Carlos Vasquez, 19.

Police say that Chester, was seen on video raping the 16-year-old girl.

The suspects face charges of sexual assault.

They have been arraigned, but no pleas were entered, the Globe reports.
