Philando Castile’s charity “Philando Feeds The Children” that was made in his honor has paid the debt of 36,000 students in 56 schools. Pamela M. Fergus who started the charity told CNN that she handed in a check for $36,000 to their local school district. Their goal was just to reach $5000, but they have obviously surpassed that with $117,000 in donations. After his killing, Philandos parents, family, students parents, and Philandos co-workers shared amazing stories of Philando’s daily acts of kindness when it came to the students at his cafeteria where he worked as a cafeteria supervisor. Many said that Philando upon leaving work would tell his family & friends how he would take $3 out of his pocket because he couldn’t see a child hungry at the school. Philando Castile was killed in July 16, 2016, when Police officer Jeronimo Yanez pulled Philando over for a broken taillight, and Philando was killed because said he thought he was reaching for his weapon, which Philando was not doing, in fact he was reaching for his wallet. Philando was his car along with his wife , and his daughter who was a toddler. His wife began to film as she became very fearful due to the recent continued slaughters of Blacks & Latinos, and she captured the killing of her husband while it was shown LIVE on Facebook. Philando did have a weapon, but had a license for it. Police Officer Jeronimo Yanez was found “Not Guilty Of Manslaughter”.
