Police believe body of missing 2-year-old Maliyah Bass has been found
HOUSTON- Police say they believe the body of 2-year-old Maliyah Bass has been recovered, after she was reported missing last Saturday.
The body a a young African-American was found floating at Brays Bayou on Sunday, by a jogger, who called 911. The body was found 15 miles away from where the toddler was reported missing.
Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo said “there’s a high probability that it is her”, despite them holding on to hope.
Acevado say’s that they believe foul play played a role in the missing toddler’s death.
Police believe that the body recovered is that of the missing toddler, but they are waiting for a formal identification. Thy are also “approaching this as a murder investigation”.
Bass was last seen at a park located in the 10600 block of Beechnut St.. She was wearing a black tank-top with different colored polka dots, matching pants and blue shoes. She also had a white, and pink white pillowcase with letter blocks inside.
