Rapper 9lokkNine pleads guilty to federal charges
FLORIDA- Rapper 9lokkNine has pleaded guilty to federal charges
The rapper, whose real name is Jacquavius Smith, fraudulently applied for Payback Protection Program (PPV) and received $10,000 in federal funds that are meant to help those who have struggling business affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, the OrlandoSentinel reports.
Smith pleaded guilty to aggravated identity theft, possession of an unregistered firearm and felon in possession of a firearm.
According to court docs obtained by the news outlet, Smith was in possession of a sawed-off semi-automatic rifle that wasn’t registered to him with the NRA and Transfer Record.
The rifle had been stolen during a burglary in 2019. Police found the rifle at Smith’s grandparents home after police served a search warrant to them. Police say his thumbprint was allegedly on the rifle magazine and his DNA.
Smith is scheduled to be sentenced on Oct 6.
