Rapper NBA YoungBoy Facing New Charges In Drug Case, Denied Pre-Trial Release

UTAH – Rapper NBA YoungBoy had new charges filed against in his large-scale prescription fraud operation.

In the new motion filed on April 24, 2024, by Weber County, the rapper whose real name is Kentrell Gaulden, faces another possession of a firearm by a restricted person felony charge and two counts of fraudulently obtaining a prescription., KUTV reported.

The recent motion filed by Weber County Attorney’s Office requested that Gaulden remain bars without bail until further noticing.

Gaulden was initially charged with 63 counts related to identity fraud, obtaining a prescription under false pretenses and forgery. He also faces charges related to possession of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person, engaging in a pattern of unlawful activity, and possession of a controlled substance.

He was on house arrest for federal firearms charges in New Orleans and is awaiting trial for that case.

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for May 9, 2024, as he remains behind bars at Cache County Jail.
