NBA YoungBoy Led ‘Large Scale Prescription Fraud Ring’, Faces 63 Charges, Police

UTAH – Rapper Never Broke Again, also known as NBA YoungBoy allegedly ran a pill ring, police said.

The rapper, whose real name is Kentrell DeSean Gaulden, was allegedly apart of a “large scale prescription fraud ring” in Cache County, according to police documents.

The 24-year-old rapper was taken into custody on Tuesday.

Documents reveal he is facing a second-degree felony charge of possession of a dangerous weapon, a second-degree felony charge of a pattern of unlawful activity, 20 third-degree felony charges of identity fraud, 20 third-degree felony charges of forgery, and 21 drug-related misdemeanors.

Gaulden is accused of calling a pharmacy in September 2023, and pretended to be a 74-year-old woman. Police day he also posed as a physician and provided identification for the physician. It was discovered by a pharmacist that the number he called from didn’t match the number of the clinic. The doctor also told the pharmacist that he never called in the prescription, and it had “happened several times” that day.

Gaulden and other associates would also call-in prescriptions for Promethazine and Codeine.

After a raid at his home earlier this week, police said they discovered bottles of pills, some with fraudulent names.

Gaulden has been on house arrest in Utah, as he waits for his upcoming federal trial in New Orleans.
