Woman arrested for allegedly selling her baby to a couple for $2,000
KENTUCKY- Maria Domingo-Perez was arrested on Tuesday by police for allegedly selling her baby to a couple.
Police received information from an elementary school “about a woman giving a child away.” When they investigated and began questioning Perez, they were in shock at what she allegedly told them.
Perez allegedly told police several stories before she admitted to “giving her child away” to Catarina Felipe Jose, 37, and Jose Manuel, 45. Police say that when they questioned the couple, they told them they had paid $2000 for the baby.
Perez’s charges are unknown, but for Jose and Manuel, they were both arrested and charged with purchasing a baby for adoption.
The baby, and Perez’s 4 other children are currently in protective custody.
